Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)

Who Is Suitable for Eyelid (Blepharoplasty) Surgery?

Individuals with excess skin, fat herniation, or conditions that create a tired appearance are suitable candidates for this surgery.

Surgical Technique

Upper eyelid surgery or eyelid ptosis surgery involves the removal of excess skin and muscle tissue in the area. Incisions are made using a scalpel or special laser technologies called bistouries or coagulation devices. These incisions are made along the eyelid crease to ensure that the surgical scar is not visible. The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia.

Surgery Longevity and Recovery

If the skin is very elastic, the individual smokes, or genetic factors are influential, there may be an increased likelihood of needing eyelid surgery again over time.

Postoperative Period

During the recovery period after surgery, any swelling that occurs in the first few days typically subsides by the end of the first week, and the patient can comfortably resume normal activities by the second week.
