Arm Lift

What is Arm Lift Surgery?

Arm lift surgery is a surgical intervention that focuses on an important area of our body. Especially when short-sleeved or sleeveless garments are preferred during the summer months, the aesthetic appearance of the arms becomes crucial. This aesthetic operation typically targets two common issues: excess fat or thickness in the arms and sagging. The skin on the inner part of the upper arms is naturally thin and elastic, so factors like significant weight changes, aging, pregnancy, or genetic factors can lead to sagging or fat accumulations. The treatment plan for arm aesthetics varies depending on the individual's specific situation. In some patients, sagging skin in the inner and back parts of the arms is prominent, while in others, increased fat deposits in the arms may be more noticeable. A customized treatment plan is created based on factors such as skin quality and fat distribution. This surgical intervention not only corrects physical appearance but can also boost the patient's confidence. The results are generally long-lasting, and patients may feel more satisfied and comfortable aesthetically.

Are You Suitable for the Surgery?

Those with sagging in the inner and back parts of the arms, lost elasticity in their tissue, and skin deformities can opt for these surgeries.

Surgical Technique

The sagging area on the inner part of the arms is elliptically excised to include skin and fat tissue. The incision mark is attempted to be hidden on the inner part of the arm facing the body. If the sagging is significant, then the incision should be planned to continue in a T-shape under the armpit. After arm lift surgery, the arms are kept elevated to prevent swelling from settling. Drainage tubes may often be necessary. Applying elastic bandages is standard. Individuals can start doing light activities after the first two days post-surgery. Resting the arms and keeping them elevated in the first two days is important for faster recovery. The use of elastic bandages or arm corsets is recommended for the first 1.5-3 weeks.

Surgery Longevity and Recovery

The duration of the surgery's results varies from person to person. Factors such as age, lifestyle, dietary habits, and weight changes can influence this duration. Generally, the results of arm lift surgery can last for at least 10 years. However, sudden weight fluctuations can lead to arm sagging again post-surgery.

Post-Operation

A corset is worn for 1 month. The corset prevents excessive swelling and aids in better tissue healing and achieving a firm shape. Incision marks start to heal after 1 month and typically fade completely after 1 year.
